McKell, Fleming

Fleming David McKell ( Eng. Fleming David Mackell ; April 30, 1929 , Montreal , Quebec , Canada - October 19, 2015 [1] ) - Canadian hockey player , center forward . Spent 13 seasons in the National Hockey League , played for the Toronto Maple Leafs and Boston Bruins teams, two-time Stanley Cup winner in the Toronto team. The son of hockey player Jack McKell (1896 (4?) - 1961), two-time winner of the Stanley Cup in the " Ottawa " (1920, 1921).

Play career

He was noted for an effective game in the junior league of the Ontario Hockey Association in the Toronto St. Michaels Major. In the "Majores" team, Jay Ross Robertson Cup (1946, 1947) and Memorial Cup (1947) won with McKell. At the end of the 1946/47 season, McKell received the Eddie Powers Memorial Trophy .

In 1947 he made his debut in the NHL in the " Toronto Maple Leafs ", with whom he twice won the Stanley Cup . In January 1952, the hockey player was exchanged at the Boston Bruins (for ). In his first full season (1952/53) in the new team, he scores 44 (27 +17) points in the regular championship and becomes the team's top scorer; at the end of this season entered the first symbolic team of the NHL.

With the Bruins in the Bruins team three times (in 1953, 1957, 1958) went to the Stanley Cup final, but all three final series lost to Montreal . McKell is the bestNHL 1958 playoff scorer with 19 points (5 + 14). After the end of the 1959/60 season, he completes performances in the NHL; later he played for Quebec Aysis (AHL; including playing coach), Los Angeles Blades (Western Hockey League (prof.)) and a number of non-professional teams.
