Biography
Biographical information is scarce. Zaitsevsky was born in 1799, according to other sources in 1800 or 1801, died in Naples in 1860 or 1861.
He served in the navy, participated in the Turkish campaign of 1828-1829. ; On January 16, 1829, with the rank of captain-lieutenant, he was awarded the Order of St. George 4th degree (No. 4258 according to the list of Grigorovich - Stepanov ); promoted to captain of the 2nd rank (1846).
Subsequently, he served in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. From 1851 to 1853 he served as consul general in Sicily, and on July 28, 1853 he was appointed to be a member of the mission in Naples.
Creativity
In his free time, he wrote poems mainly elegiac poems, original and translated, which he printed in periodicals from the mid- 1820s : in “News of Literature” ( 1825 - 1826 ), “ Nevsky Almanac ” ( 1825 , 1826 - 1827 ), “ Northern flowers ”( 1828 - 1829 ). He also collaborated in Telescope , Son of the Fatherland , Mayak , Literaturnaya Gazeta and many almanacs .
