Biography
Yuri Boretsky was born on March 2, 1935 in Kiev .
In 1953-1955, he studied at the theater department of the A.V. Lunacharsky State Institute of Theater Arts (GITIS), in 1959 he graduated from the acting department of the M. S. Shchepkin Theater School .
He served as an actor in the Chelyabinsk Drama Theater named after S. M. Zwilling (1959-1961, 1964-1966), the Moscow Drama Theater named after N.V. Gogol (1961-1964), the Moscow Regional Drama Theater named after A.N. Ostrovsky (1966— 1968).
In 1970 he graduated from the directing department of the Higher Courses for Scriptwriters and Directors .
Known for the incident associated with the injury of actress Natalia Vavilova on the set of the film "Nikolai Podvoisky" in 1987. Vavilova was discarded by a horse and seriously damaged her spine. She was asked "not to tell anyone", promised to wait for the shoot until recovery, but two days later they took on her role as another actress. Natalya Vavilova, having starred in several more films, completely stopped her acting career [1] .
