Biography
Born June 12, 1934 in a peasant family in the village of Ushaki, Cherikovsky district, Mogilev region of the Belorussian SSR .
In 1953 he graduated from the Slavgorod secondary school, then - the journalism department of the V. I. Lenin Belarusian State University (1953-1958). In 1961-1964 he studied at graduate school at the Institute of Literature. Y. Kupala Academy of Sciences of the Belorussian SSR . In 1965 he defended his thesis (Institute of Literature and Art of the Academy of Sciences of the Byelorussian SSR ; “The Problem of Sending Belorussian Prose to the Early Peryad”). In 1992, he defended his doctoral dissertation (Y. Kupala Institute of Literature, Academy of Sciences of the Byelorussian SSR ; "Rhythmic organization of literary text").
He worked in the newspaper "Guard of the October" (1958-1961). From 1964, he was a researcher, in 1992-2008, he was a chief researcher at the Yanka Kupala Institute of Literature of the Academy of Sciences of the Byelorussian SSR . He takes part in the work of the Bible Commission of the Belarusian Orthodox Exarchate [1] .
Scientific Activities
With journalistic articles and reports he began to appear in print. In 1957, with critical articles and reviews. In 1958, A. Yaskevich took into account many aspects of the history and theory of literature, traditions and innovation, the formation of a national classical style (“Narajanne novaga mastaststva” , 1980, co-authored; “Karanі the Young Drava”, 1967), the psychology of the writer's creativity and personality (“Grani Maysterstva”, 1974), the structure of prose and poetic work (“Hell of the Word - Imagine”, 1968 g .; “At the candle of the mastack of Tvor, 1977), pr the problems of literary methodology, translation from near-local literatures, analytical translation concept (“Going Out of the Circle”, 1985) [2] . A. Yaskevich’s research “The Belarusian Beloved Mastatz Traditions” (1987) was written innovatively, where the genesis of modern Belarusian literature is traced, the interaction of literature and folklore is shown in a new light. He appears in the periodical press with problems with articles on the development of Belarusian literature. Develops new experimental approaches to the study of the rhythm of poetry and prose ("Rytmіchnaya arganіzatsyya mastastskaga tekstu", 1991). He also specializes in the field of scorning and biblical studies.
