Nezhinsky Uyezd is a land management (administrative-territorial) unit within the Chernigov province of the Russian Empire , which existed in 1781-1923. The county town is Nizhyn .

History
The county was established in 1781 from parts of the Nezhinsky and Prilutsky regiments as part of the Chernigov governorate . In 1797, the Nezhinsky district became part of the Little Russian province , and from 1802 - the Chernihiv province . In 1923 the county was abolished, on its territory the Nezhinsky district of the Nezhinsky district was formed .
Population
According to the census of the Russian Empire in 1897, 168,984 people lived in the county, of which 91.8% were Ukrainians , 5.9% Jews , 1.9% Russians .
