Scalloway Castle ( eng. Scalloway Castle ) - Scottish castle, which is located in the village of Scallovay on the shores of the bay, embedded in the southwestern shore of the island of Mainland , in the Shetland Islands , in Scotland . It is administered by the organization Historic Scotland , the executive body of the Scottish Government.

History
Built in 1600 by Patrick Stewart, 2nd Earl of Orkney , a representative of the noble family of the Stuarts at about the same time as the Castle Muness on Unst Island.
Scalloway Castle became the administrative center of the Shetland Islands, replacing Low-Ting-Hill in this sense. In 1733, the capital was moved to Lerwick [1] .
In 1971 it was included in the list of architectural monuments of category “A” [2] .
