Biography
Born on November 17, 1913 in the village of Belomechetskaya, Kochubeyevsky District, Stavropol Territory .
In the Red Army from November 1941. Member of the Great Patriotic War since February 1942. He fought on the 3rd Ukrainian and 1st Belorussian fronts. He took part in the liberation of Ukraine, Moldova, Poland, in battles in Germany, the storming of Berlin.
May 15, 1944 awarded the Order of Glory 3rd degree. March 4, 1945 awarded the Order of Glory of the 2nd degree.
By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of May 15, 1946, Senior Sergeant Shakunov Mikhail Ilyich was awarded the 1st Degree of Glory order for exemplary performance of command tasks, becoming a full knight of the Order of Glory.
In 1945, demobilized. He lived and worked in the city of Cherkessk, Stavropol Territory . He died on May 18, 1998.
