Biography
Born in 1909 in the village of Vorontsovo-Aleksandrovskoye, Stavropol Territory .
In 1931-1933 he served in the Red Army . With the beginning of World War II once again drafted into the army. Since August 1941 at the front.
On March 26, 1944, in battles for the city of Kovel, Volyn region was among the first to burst into an enemy trench , threw grenades at the enemy’s firing point. On April 8, 1944, Private Ivanov Grigori Danilovich was awarded the Order of Glory of the 3rd degree.
July 18, with his subordinates under heavy enemy fire, he made four passes in a minefield and wire fence. When the signal to attack was given, the scouts led all the units through the aisle without loss and rushed forward. On August 31, 1944, Junior Sergeant Ivanov Grigori Danilovich was awarded the Order of Glory of the 2nd degree.
On September 10, acting as part of a group in the area of a brick factory and on the Anin junction, 8 km east of the city of Warsaw, Ivanov was the first to burst into an enemy trench. At the critical moment of the battle, when the company commander was out of action, the sergeant took command of the company and led the fighters to assault enemy positions. The company successfully completed a combat mission.
By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of March 24, 1945, junior sergeant Ivanov Grigori Danilovich was awarded the Order of Glory , 1st Degree, for exemplary performance of the tasks of command. Became a full gentleman of the Order of Glory.
In 1945 he was demobilized. Returned home. He died on June 28, 1978.
