Biography

Born on October 13, 1929 in the village of Kolpakovo, Ivaninsky, now Kurchatov District, Kursk Region . He participated in the Great Patriotic War . After the war ended, until 1947 he worked on the farm "Dawn". From 1947 to 1949 he worked as a loader at a sugar factory in the village of Lyubimovka, Kursk region. From 1949 to 1953 he served in the ranks of the Soviet Army . After demobilization, he worked as a turner at the Lgovsky Foundry and Mechanical Plant. From 1954 to 1956 he was an assistant driver of the excavator of the Kerch and Dnepropetrovsk construction departments of the Soyuzexcavation trust. In 1956 he was transferred to work as an excavator driver at the Lebedinsky mine in the city of Gubkin, Belgorod Region .

Since September 1957, he participated in the development of the iron ore deposit of the Mikhailovsky GOK. He was a pioneer, participated in the extraction of the first ore. From 1957 to 1974 he worked as an excavator driver. The name of Sergei Titovich Akimov was associated with the birth of high-profile initiatives and initiatives among excavators in the industry. Akimov was the first in his career to start overburden work and the first to master the loading of ore from a warehouse to railway transport [1] . For high production results, a great contribution to the development of ferrous metallurgy, Sergei Titovich was the first to be awarded the title of drummer of communist labor at the plant. Akimov's labor activity was closely connected with public work. He was a trade union committee, a member of the trade union committee of the mining department. Since 1967, S.T. Akimov, a permanent member and chairman of the labor protection commission of the Kursk Regional Council of Trade Unions, was elected a delegate to the inter-union conferences of the Kursk regional trade union, a delegate to the X, XIV and XVI congresses of the All-Union Central Council of Trade Unions , at which he was elected a member of the Central Auditing Commission. In March 1971, S. T. Akimov was awarded the title of Hero of Socialist Labor for the achievement of high production performance in fulfilling annual and five-year plans, with the Golden Sickle and Hammer medal and the Order of Lenin.

From 1974 to 1990, Sergei Titovich worked as an engineer-instructor of an excavator, a master of industrial training, and headed the Council of Mentors of the Mikhailovsky GOK. He was awarded the sign of the All-Union Central Council of Trade Unions and the Komsomol Central Committee “Mentor of Youth”, the medal “For Valiant Labor”, the sign “For active work in trade unions”, and the medal “Veteran of Labor”.
