Biography

Born on December 14 (27), 1913 in the village of Ivanovskoye, Lgovsky district, Kursk province [1] . In 1929 he graduated from 7 classes of the school.

In the army since November 1935. He served in artillery . In 1937, demobilized.

Then he lived and worked in Moscow. Again in the army since June 1941.

Member of the Great Patriotic War : in October 1941 - October 1943 - foreman, fire platoon commander and battery commander of the 868th anti-tank artillery regiment ( Western , Bryansk and Voronezh fronts ). He participated in the Moscow battle , defensive battles in the Medyn and Gzhat directions, the Battle of Kursk , the Belgorod-Kharkov operation and the battle of the Dnieper . On October 13, 1943, during the battles at the Bukrinsky bridgehead, he was seriously wounded and sent to a hospital.

Particularly distinguished himself in the Battle of Kursk and the Belgorod-Kharkov operation . During the defensive battles on the Kursk Bulge on July 5–20, 1943, he destroyed 14 tanks, 6 vehicles with infantry, and up to 150 fascists with his platoon. July 5, 1943 was wounded, but did not leave the battlefield. During the offensive battles on August 12-13, 1943, in the vicinity of the village of Grebenikovka ( Trostyanetsky district of Sumy region , Ukraine ), a platoon destroyed an anti-tank gun and suppressed 6 firing points.

For courage and heroism shown in battles, by decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of September 21, 1943, Senior Lieutenant Morozov Ivan Ivanovich was awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union with the award of the Order of Lenin and the Golden Star medal .

In December 1944 he graduated from the artillery advanced training courses for officers, in May 1945 - the Leningrad Higher Artillery Officer School. He served as a battery commander in artillery (in the Kiev military district ). Since October 1946, captain I.I. Morozov is in stock.

Since June 1948, he worked in the 1st trolleybus park in Moscow: trolley bus driver (1948–1952), deputy director (1952–1974), head of the operation department (1974–1982), traffic inspector (1982–1988), senior controller (1988-1989) and the distributor of works (since 1989).

He lived in Moscow. He died (hit by an electric train) on August 25, 1997 . He was buried at the Vostryakovsky cemetery in Moscow.
