Kimmo Muurinen ( Fin. Kimmo Muurinen ; born February 23, 1981 , Vantaa , Finland ) is a former Finnish basketball player who played for the national team of Finland as a heavy forward .

Career
Club
He began his career in 2000 in the Pantterit team, where he played the season, then moved to the Vantaa club. From 2002 to 2004, he played in the United States for the NCAA Arkansas Troyans team. Then he returned to Finland, where he spent 5 seasons at the Honka club.
In 2009 he moved to Italy , where he played for the club “Nuovo”, representing Naples [1] . After some time, the team experienced a crisis, and a number of key players left it, including Muurinen, who moved to another Italian club - Scafati [2] . In the summer of 2010, the player joined the German Frankfurt , with which he signed a contract for a period of one year [3] . In the 2011-12 season, the player returned to Finland [4] .
International
He played for the national team of Finland, in 2011 and 2013 he played at the European Championship, and the team twice became the ninth.
Personal life
Married to Jenny Muurinen (girlhood - Laaxsonen), the couple has two sons. [5] [6]
