Ante Chowicz is a student of the Kherstvil Zagreb club from the suburbs of Sydney . In 1995, the goalkeeper played for Hurstville in the first division of New South Wales . Then, for two years, Chowic played in the state premier league for the Leichhardt Tigers team from another Sydney suburb. Since 1997, the footballer has played for the NSL club Marconi Stallions . The goalkeeper played 46 matches for the team and two years later he moved to PAOK .

The Australian spent half of the 1999/00 season on loan at another Greek club, Kavala . For PAOK, however, Covic spoke irregularly. Having played 8 matches for the team from Thessaloniki in 2 seasons and managed to become the owner of the Greek Cup , in July 2001 the goalkeeper moved to Zagreb Dynamo . However, for the six months spent in the Croatian club, Ante Čović did not play a single match and at the beginning of 2002 returned to the NSL, becoming a player in the Sydney Olympic club.

In the homeland, the footballer did not stay long, already in the summer of 2002, having moved to the Swedish Hammarby . For 4 and a half years, Čović was the main goalkeeper of the Stockholm club. In the 2003 season, he became Sweden's vice champion.

At the end of the 2006 Swedish Championship, Ante Čović left the Scandinavian country and defended the colors of the Newcastle United Jets A-League club until March 2009. In the 2007/08 season, the goalkeeper became the champion of Australia.

From 2009 to 2011, the Australian goalkeeper again played in Sweden for the Elfsborg club. In the 2011/12 season, he played for Melbourne Victory , and then moved to Western Sydney Wanderers , with whom he became vice-champion of the country in the 2012/13 season and was recognized as the league goalkeeper of the year [2] .

Team

Ante Covic was called to the Australian national team from 2006 to 2009. First played for the team on February 22, 2006 in the qualifying match for the Asian Cup 2007 with the team of Bahrain . [3] . The goalkeeper in 2006 was in the team’s application for the World Cup , but did not play a single match in the tournament. After 2006, the goalkeeper only once entered the field as part of a Soc-Cruz: on March 22, 2008, he played a friendly match against Singapore [4] .
