Biography

Born March 30, 1921 in the village of Voznesenskaya, now Labinsky district, Krasnodar Territory . He worked on a collective farm.

With the outbreak of World War II, he was drafted into the ranks of the Red Army . In September 1941, as part of the army, he was sent to the Western Front near Moscow. In December 1941, he was seriously wounded and demobilized from the army.

In 1942 he again went to the Red Army. He participated in the battles of World War II from July 1943. He fought on the Voronezh Front. October 12, 1943 was mortally wounded by a fragment of a shell.

By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of June 3, 1944, for the exemplary performance of the combat missions of command and the courage and heroism shown at the same time, Red Army soldier Alexei Andreevich Sosnov was awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union posthumously.
