Biography
From the age of 6 he studied at the Gnesins' music school (class of Prof. I.F. Pushechnikov and S.P. Velikanov ), later - at the music department of Boston University (USA, class of Prof. R. Gomberg).
Evgeny Izotov was the first Russian-born musician to take the place of the first oboe player in several major North American opera and symphony orchestras: (1995, Miami Beach ), (1995-1996, soloist ), the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra (1996-2002, soloist), the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra (2002-2006, soloist). Since 2006 - soloist, accompanist of the oboe group of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Riccardo Muti [1] .
Evgeny Izotov regularly performs solo and chamber concerts with conductors Riccardo Muti, Bernard Haitink, James Levine, Michael Tilson Thomas, Vladimir Yurovsky, Lorin Maazel, as well as musicians Yo Yo Ma, Efim Bronfman, Pinhas Zuckerman, Emanuel Ax, Watts.
Eugene Izotov teaches at DePaul and Universities, previously taught at the Juilliard School in New York and the San Francisco Music Conservatory . In addition, he continues to give regular workshops at various conservatories in the USA, Europe and Asia.
In 2003, maestro James Levine invited Yevgeny Izotov to take part in the orchestra of the festival in Verbier (Switzerland). Since 2005, Evgeny Izotov has been a member of the Directors of the International Pacific Music Festival, founded by Leonard Bernstein in Sapporo (Japan). In 2011, Yevgeny Izotov advised the oboe group of the YouTube Symphony Symphony Orchestra on the stage of the Sydney Opera House.
Since 1991, lives in the United States , currently - in Chicago .
