Biography
Born on August 19, 1910 in the city of Armavir, now in the Krasnodar Territory .
In the Red Army since 1927. On the front in the Great Patriotic War from December 1941.
He distinguished himself in the Vistula-Oder and Berlin operations. The regiment entrusted to him reliably protected parts of the 9th Guards Tank Corps from enemy air raids, which ensured the successful crossing of the Vistula and Oder rivers. Led fire regiment units on the outskirts of Berlin. In these battles, anti-aircraft guards destroyed more than one hundred and fifty enemy planes.
By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of May 31, 1945, for the skillful command of the regiment, exemplary performance of the command’s combat tasks and the courage and heroism shown to the guard, Colonel Alexander Stepanovich Peshakov was awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union with the award of the Order of Lenin and the Gold Star medal.
Since 1948 in stock. He lived and worked in the city of Begovat of the Tashkent region of Uzbekistan. He died on June 19, 1969.
