Geography
The village is located on the banks of the river Butyrihi. [2]
History
According to the lists of populated places of the Russian Empire in 1872, the village belonged to the 2nd camp of the Galich district of the Kostroma province . It contained 3 courtyards , 14 men and 14 women. [2]
According to the 1897 census , 69 people lived in the village of Manikovo (36 men and 33 women). [3]
According to the List of Populated Places of the Kostroma Province in 1907, the village of Manikovo belonged to the Svinyinsk Volost of the Galich District of the Kostroma Province. According to the volost administration for 1907 there were 12 peasant households and 102 inhabitants. In the village there was a forge. The main occupation of the villagers was painting. [3]
Before the municipal reform of 2010, the village was part of the Krasilnikovsky rural settlement. [4] [5]
