Geography

Dry bed of the Bornon stream

Sorzh, a part of the Perigueux metropolitan area, is located in the north of the Dordogne department. The minimum height of the terrain, 120 meters, is in the southeast of the commune. The maximum height, 216 meters, is in the north-west and north of its territory in the La Kabylie area .

On the northwestern edge of the commune there is a dried-out ditch that crosses fields next to the Limoges-Perigueux railway line. It recalls that in the 19th century, before the construction of this railway, the Bornon stream flowed through the territory of the commune.

Sorghum is located in a straight line 19 kilometers north-east of Perigueux and 12 kilometers south-west of Tivier . Sorzh village is located at the intersection of national highway 21 and departmental roads 68, 74 and 106.
