Documentation Center of the Newest History of Tomsk Region

With the formation of the Tomsk Region and the creation of the Tomsk Regional Committee of the All-Union Communist Party (Bolsheviks) on December 25, 1944, a decision was made to create a regional party archive at the regional committee.

On August 25, 1991, by the Decree of the President of the RSFSR “On Party Archives”, the activity of the party archives was terminated, their documents were included in the state archival fund. In accordance with a presidential decree by decision of the Head of the Administration of Tomsk Oblast of November 4, 1991, the Center for Documentation of the Latest History of Tomsk Oblast (CDNI TO) was established on the basis of the former party archive.

Archive documents reflect the political history, economic, social, cultural development of the West Siberian region in the twentieth century.

A significant part of the documents are archival funds of the institutions of the CPSU and the Komsomol of the Tomsk region for the years 1920-1991. , including party and Komsomol committees, control party commissions, political departments, institutions of the party press and education, primary party and Komsomol organizations. The largest funds of the Tomsk Provincial Committee of the RCP (b), the Tomsk City Committee of the CPSU, the Tomsk Regional Committee of the CPSU, the Narym District Committee of the CPSU (b).

Since 1991, the archive has been accepting documents from public organizations, political movements, and national-cultural centers of the Tomsk Region. As a result of initiative documenting, the archive was replenished with personal funds of political figures, scientists, local historians, labor heroes, cultural workers. Among them are the funds of E. K. Ligachev , S. S. Sulakshina , B. K. Shaidulina, N. I. Kartashova , A. V. Polozhiy , L. M. Ananyeva, V. S. Tseitlina, S. L. Sapozhnikova and etc.

Since 2001, accepts for safekeeping documents on the personnel of liquidated enterprises of all forms of ownership. The documents of such large enterprises as the Tomsk Instrument Plant , the Tomsk Petrochemical Plant , the State Bearing Plant No. 5 , the Tomsk Sibir match factory , the Tomsk confectionary factory Krasnaya Zvezda , the Tomsk cutting tools plant , etc. have been adopted.
