Geography
Located on the shore of the bay, embedded in the west coast of the island of Mainland . The exit from the bay is limited to the island of Veila , in the center of the bay is a small island of Linga . Wals includes the small village of Barrastow .
History
Five kilometers north of Wals, the remains of the Skord-of-Brewster stone structures, possibly from the Neolithic or Bronze Age, have been preserved [1] .
Historically included in the Wals & Sandness parish [2] .
Economics
Ferry service to the island of Fula thirty kilometers in the west [3] .
The A971 motorway ( Melby - Sandness - Winsgart ) has a three-kilometer branch to Wals and connects the village with the western and southern parts of the island.
