Club History
Lovers (2004–2013)
In 2004, the history of the main hockey club of the Rostov region begins. That winter, several comrades, including the first and current president of the club, Robertas Kucinskas , decided to play hockey on a frozen lake. Passion grew into a club project.
So there was a hockey team, which began to be called "Condor". Since 2007, the hockey club changed its name to HC Rostov.
In 2010, Rostov entered the championship of the Krasnodar Territory .
RHL (2013—2015)
In July 2013, it was decided to create a professional hockey team.
In August, the first gatherings of the club were held in Yeysk, to which players from all over Russia were invited: the cities of Chelyabinsk, Salavat, Tolyatti, Magnitogorsk, Novosibirsk and others. The guys came to watch, and so the first professional hockey club was born in Rostov-on-Don. [one]
In September, Rostov made its debut in the Russian Hockey League . In the first match, the Rostov team on the road to Novocheboksarsk defeated the local Sokol with a score of 8: 3. At the end of the season, Condors took 4th place in the West division, reached the semi-finals of the division in the playoffs, where in a series of matches they lost to Smolensk Slavutich . Thus, the team completed its performance in the playoffs, losing to the future league champion.
The next season of 2014/2015 , the Rostov “Condor” won their first ever title. In the third match of the final series, the Rostov team beat the Air Force CSK with a score of 1: 0, thereby winning the entire series - 3: 0. The decisive puck into the goal of the “pilots” scored Dmitry Kuzmenko. This match was the last in the history of the RHL, and “Rostov” was its last champion, in the summer of 2015 the league was reorganized into the Championship of the Higher Hockey League .
VHL Championship (2015—2019)
In the first season of the 2015/2016 formed Championship of the Higher Hockey League, the Rostov team took first place in the regular season and reached the final of the playoffs, where they lost in the series to four wins of 1-4 Tambov HCs . Thus, “Rostov” in the first season identified himself as one of the leaders of the league. And already in the next season of 2016/2017 , “Rostov” became the owner of the Federation Cup, beating the long-standing offenders in the final series - Smolensk “Slavutich” 4-1. In the 2018/19 season, the Rostov second became the owners of the Federation Cup, beating the Saransk Mordovia 4-0 in the final series of their main competitors

Starting from the 2019/20 season, the Rostov Hockey Club has been participating in the Major Hockey League Championship.
Home Arenas
ICC Ice Arena
Ice Arena is a sports and entertainment complex in Rostov-on-Don, the opening took place in December 2014.
Ice Arena is the training base and reserve arena of HC Rostov. The Rostovites played their first official game on March 7, 2015, in the 1/4 finals of the playoffs of the RHL Champions Cup, Rostov defeated the Novocheboksarsky Sokol 10-0.
Starting from the 2017/2018 season, HC Rostov has been holding home matches at the Ice Arena.
Sports Palace
ZSK "Sport-Don" - a spectacular sports complex in Rostov-on-Don, often simply called the "Sports Palace", built in 1967. Capacity is 4000 spectators (version with ice) and for 5000 spectators (sports and concert options). Since the 2013/2014 season, HC “Rostov” has been holding their home matches here. In the summer of 2017, the regional Ministry of Sports reported that the Sports Palace is in disrepair. In this regard, HC “Rostov” from the season 2017/2018 stopped playing in this arena.
