Biography

Born in Chelyabinsk . In 1955 he entered and in 1960 he defended his diploma at the Moscow Agricultural Academy. K.A. Timiryazev (ICCA) . For more than 20 years he worked as a chief specialist and manager in various agricultural enterprises and institutions in Moscow and the Moscow Region. For high production performance he was awarded the Order of the Badge of Honor. Without interruption from production, he was actively engaged in scientific research. Their result was several articles and two monographs, and in 1977 the defense of the Ph.D. thesis on the topic “Economic and Technological Foundations of Meat Production in Specialized Complexes” was defended.

In January 1983, Chernyakov B.A. joined the Institute of the USA and Canada of the Russian Academy of Sciences as a senior, then a leading researcher, and since 1994 - head of the agricultural and food problems sector of the USA and Canada (now the Center for Agricultural Problems of the USA and Canada).

He was engaged in research of trends in US agri-food policy, legislative regulation of agro-industrial production, food security problems of foreign countries and Russia, a comparative analysis of the development of agricultural sectors in Russia and the USA.

In 1992, he defended his doctoral dissertation on the topic: "Socio-economic and environmental problems of the chemicalization of US agriculture", in 2003 he received the title of professor.

In the last years of life Chernyakov B.A. expanded scientific, practical and pedagogical activities, participated in the development of a strategy for the development of the agricultural complex of Russia, including the Doctrine of Food Security of the Country, the first agricultural law and other legislative acts.

He taught at the Moscow Agricultural Academy. K.A. Timiryazev, was the supervisor of studies at the Higher School of Agribusiness (MBA) at the Moscow Agricultural Academy.

Chernyakov B.A. He was engaged in researching the trends of the US agri-food policy, the current state and promising directions of improving the agrarian sector of the country's economy, legislative regulation of agroindustrial production, food security problems of foreign countries and Russia, relations in the agrarian field between Russia and the USA, historical aspects of the comparative analysis of the development of agricultural production in Russia and USA. His research was distinguished by scientific novelty and high practical significance. In particular, he studied the formation of Russian-American agrarian and economic relations, conducted a detailed analysis of the most relevant financial, economic and social problems of the modern agrarian economy of the United States. Under his leadership, approaches to conducting modern economic policy of Russia in relation to the United States of America were formulated and substantiated.

Chernyakov B.A. actively participated in the scientific and organizational work of the Institute of the USA and Canada of the Russian Academy of Sciences (ISCRAN), as a member of the Academic and Dissertation Councils of ISCRAN.

Chernyakov B.A. he devoted a lot of energy and energy to the education of young American scientists, being the head of their scientific work, he taught the course "Agricultural and Trade Policy" at the Moscow Artists Academy.
