Frederic Guillaume Schneklyud ( fr. Frédéric Guillaume Swede. Schneklüd ; 1859 , Paris - 1930 ) - French cellist of Swedish origin, best known for his portrait, painted by Paul Gauguin , "The Schneklud who cello" ( Fr. Schneklud celui qui violonce as Alfred Jarry calls him in Dad Ubyu Almanac.

He graduated from the Paris Conservatory ( 1880 ), a student of Leon Jacquard . He played in the Lamoureux Orchestra and various chamber compositions, including in the string quartets of Albert Zhelozo . As part of the quartet, in particular, for the first time he performed the string quartet Eugene Isai ( 1894 ) [1] . He was also the first performer of a sonata for cello and piano Leo Lugue (1891, with pianist Paul Bro) [2] .
