Club History
The mini-football club “Baku United” was created in 2008 by the Azerbaijani diaspora organization “Odlar Yurdu” ( Russian “Country of Lights” ) to participate in amateur tournaments in London. The team was formed as a result of combining several amateur teams consisting of Azerbaijani students studying at universities in the UK.
Until 2012, Baku United participated in amateur tournaments named after Heydar Aliyev and Lobanovsky.
In 2012 , as a result of the merger of the Spartans mini-football club, playing in the National Futsal League of England with the club “Baku United”, a new club was formed, called “Baku United FC”.
In the 2012–2013 season, the former Spartans club made its debut in the National Futsal League of England under a new name - “Baku United FC”. At the preliminary stage, the club played in the Southern League.
