History

The construction of the church was started in 1835 at the expense of the local landowner Alexandra Vasilyevna Zhelyabuzhskaya. The final decoration of the temple was made at the expense of N. S. Skrebnitsky, Lieutenant N. Stefanovich, and the Chernivian merchant Alenichev-Popov. There are no bell towers at the temple.

The side altar of the temple, in the name of the Sign of the Mother of God, was consecrated on November 12, 1842, and a service was held in it until 1870, when the main throne of the church was consecrated on October 28.

The time of occurrence of the parish is unknown, there is no way to determine the origin of its name by the Girls [1] , the name Znamenskoye came from the parish church. Among the people, the parish was known as Zhelyabovo, Khotyanka and Pyatnitskoe. Notes

  1. ↑ In the "Chapters of Scribe Books ..." the village of Devochkino is mentioned - at that time the village of Devichye in Pyatnitsky camp of the Chernsky district: "The village of Devichye on the river on Cherni under the Big Forest. And in it there is a church, the Great Martyrs of Paraskovchey called Fridays of Christ ... ”(l.184). Judging by the "Economic Notes of the Chernsky Uyezd" in 1833, Maiden was still a village and belonged to the landowner Pyotr Alekseevich Minin. (RGVIA, f.846, op.16, d.19125, No. according to general square 16).
