Celia Trebelli , married to Trebelli-Bettini ( Italian: Zelia Trebelli-Bettini , real name Gloria Caroline Gilbert , FR Gloria Caroline Gillebert ; November 12, 1838 , Paris - August 18, 1892 , Etretat ) - French opera singer ( mezzo-soprano ).

From the age of six, she studied piano and only at the age of 16 began to study singing with Pierre Vartel . She made her debut on the opera stage in 1859 in Madrid. She took herself the Italian pseudonym Trebelli, formed by the reverse reading of her own surname (with the letter G dropped). In 1860, she successfully performed in Berlin in the Arzache party (Semiramis by J. Rossini ) and until 1866 worked mainly here, touring in different countries of Europe. In 1863, she married the tenor Alessandro Bettini , with whom she then performed a lot together. As part of the entreprise, James Mapleson sang a lot in the UK, in 1878 she toured the United States. In 1882 she visited Russia (along with violinist Ovid Musen ), traveling with concerts from Helsingfors to Odessa . In 1884, Carmen sang (" Carmen " by Georges Bizet ) on the stage of the Metropolitan Opera . In addition to the opera repertoire, she also performed in oratorios, from G. F. Handel to F. Mendelssohn . She completed her career in 1889 .
The daughter of Trebelli and Bettini Antoinette also became an opera singer and performed under the pseudonym Anthony Dolores .
