Biography
The boy met sumo via the Internet . He loved the fight so much that he vowed to become rikishi . The first professional sumotori from Africa , the first sumotori of Arab origin. Sikon fighter translates as "Great Sandstorm." Osunaarashi is a Muslim , so he refrains from eating during the daylight hours of the month of Ramadan , even if there is a tournament for this month. Over time, Osunaarashi hoped to become the first Arab yokozuna .
In November 2013, Osunaarashi made his debut in makuuti with the rank of 15th maegashira of the west. Thus, in order to move from the preparatory league of mazumo to the top division of sumo, the Egyptian needed only 10 tournaments - this is one of the best results in history (the record belongs to Jokor - 9 tournaments). The hero spends his free time at the computer .
From Haru Basho to Nagoya Basho in 2014, his weight increased by more than 20 kg. In the July 2014 Basho, two yokozuns ( Kakuryu and Harumafudzi ) defeated in two bouts in a row.
In March 2016, due to an injury, Osunaarashi dropped out in Dzure where he showed almost complete dominance, winning the cup with a score of 13-2 and immediately returned back to Makuuchi. After a relapse of the injury, he withdrew from the July 2016 tournament after the first day of the tournament. [1] After that, he again sank into the juryo, in which, on the sixth day of the tournament, starred due to injury. Returning on the ninth day, he completed his performance at the tournament with six victories. At the November tournament in 2016, he missed two bouts due to an injury, however, the 9 victories he won were enough to return to Makuuti again.
Based on the results of the January 2017 tournament, Osunaarashi again dropped out in a judging session, where at the next March tournament he participated in the playoffs of three applicants, which Toyohibiki won.
Retirement
In January 2018, he was removed from the bass because he was the culprit of the accident while driving. In March, the Egyptian received from the Board of Directors of the Sumo Association a mandatory “recommendation” to resign, since since 1985 the sekitori has been forbidden to drive a car, in addition, Osunaarashi did not have a driver’s license at all. For the offense, the Egyptian was also fined by the court for 500 thousand yen [2] .
