Biography
Alexey Kulikov was born on September 20, 1924 in the village of Gornaya Proleika (now - Dubovsky District, Volgograd Region ). After graduating from elementary school, he worked as a scribbler of a carousel at the Barricades of the Stalingrad plant , while at the same time he studied at the OSOAVIAHIM marine club. In 1942, Kulikov was called up for service in the Workers 'and Peasants' Red Army. From the same year - on the fronts of World War II. Participated in the Battle of Stalingrad and Kursk [1] .
By September 1943, Red Army soldier Alexei Kulikov was a foot reconnaissance reconnaissance officer of the 955th Infantry Regiment of the 309th Infantry Division of the 40th Army of the Voronezh Front . He distinguished himself during the battle of the Dnieper . On the night of September 21-22, 1943, Kulikov, as part of a reconnaissance group, crossed the Dnieper in the vicinity of the village of Rzhishchev of the Kagarlyksky district of the Kiev region of the Ukrainian SSR and took an active part in the capture and retention of the bridgehead on its western shore. In those battles, he personally destroyed 1 tank and about 30 enemy soldiers and officers, which helped to repel several German counterattacks [1] .
By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of October 23, 1943, for the "exemplary performance of the command missions at the front of the battle against the German invaders and the courage and heroism shown at the same time," Red Army soldier Alexei Kulikov was awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union with the award of the Order of Lenin and the Golden Star medal under the number 2155 /. He was also awarded the medal "For Courage" [1] .
July 12, 1944 Kulikov died during the battles for Pinsk . He was buried in Pinsk [1] .
In honor of Kulikov, a street in Pinsk and a school in the Mountain Span are named [1] . A memorial plaque was installed on the facade of the Volgograd public secondary school No. 2 of the city of Volgograd , where Alexei Kulikov studied.
