Biography
Vasily Turok was born on February 18, 1920 in the village of Nezhurino (now - Svatovsky district, Lugansk region of Ukraine ). Early left without parents. He graduated from an agricultural technical school in Kupyansk , after which he went to the Altai Territory , where he worked as an agronomist, department manager, and chief agronomist of the Biysk sveklokhovkhoz. Since 1949, he was the chief agronomist, and since 1952, the director of the Rubtsovsky state farm. In 1955 he graduated from the Novosibirsk Agricultural Institute [1] .
Under the leadership of Turk, the state farm became one of the best in the whole region, thanks to the extensive use of irrigated agriculture, obtaining record harvests [1] .
By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR dated March 10, 1976, for "the outstanding successes achieved in the All-Union socialist competition and the labor prowess shown in fulfilling the tasks of the 9th five-year plan and the commitments made to increase the production and sale of agricultural and livestock products to the state" Vasily Turok was awarded the title of Hero of Socialist Labor with the award of the Order of Lenin and the Hammer and Sickle Medal [1] .
Actively engaged in social activities, was elected deputy of the Supreme Soviet of the RSFSR , deputy of the regional committee and district committee of the CPSU. Participated in ENEA and VSHV . He died on July 1, 1982, was buried in the village of Chaika, Rubtsovsk district of the Altai Territory [1] .
Honored agronomist of the RSFSR . He was awarded three Orders of Lenin, the Order of the Red Banner of Labor and a number of medals [1] .
