Chemyakina is a village in the Kachug district of the Irkutsk region of Russia . It is part of the Biryulsky municipality . Located about 30 km southeast of the district center.

History
The locality got its name from the name of the founder. According to the Irkutsk journalist and local historian Gennady Butakov , the name Chemyakin can be translated into Russian from local languages as Gornostaev . Many Cossacks, peasants, industrialists and other Siberian pioneers did not initially have surnames. Later, nicknames were taken as surnames, as well as the names of the localities in which these people settled [1] .

According to the All-Russian Census , in 2010 16 people lived in the village (7 men and 9 women) [2] .
