Geography
The village of Rog is located in the northern part of the Dolgorukovsky district , 20 km north of the village of Dolgorukovo . Located at the source of a small nameless stream tributary of the river Svishnya .
History
The village of Horn arose no later than the 2nd half of the 18th century . It was first mentioned in the Economic Notes of Yelets County in 1778 under the name Horny. The name from the word horn is the ravine screwdrivers, spur [2] .
In the "List of populated places" of the Oryol province of 1866 , it is referred to as "the treasury village of Rogovaya (Rogovo) with wells, 48 yards, 568 residents, 2 oil mills." In 1905, the Rogovaya village was listed in the parish of the Epiphany Church in the village of Gryzlovo .
In 1880, there were 80 courtyards in Horn, in which 695 residents live. According to the 1926 census in the village of Rog there are 165 households, 811 inhabitants. In 1932 - 931 inhabitants [3] .
December 1, 1941 , during the Great Patriotic War , the village of Rog was temporarily occupied by the Nazis. On December 10, 1941, during the Yelets offensive operation of the Red Army, the village of Rog was liberated.
Until 1928, the village of Rog as part of the Stegalovo volost of the Yelets district of the Oryol province . In 1928, it became part of the Dolgorukovsky district of the Yelets district of the Central Black Earth region . After the separation of the Central Black Sea District in 1934, the Dolgorukovsky district became part of the Voronezh region , in 1935 - the Kursk region , and in 1939 - the Oryol region . Since January 6, 1954 as part of the Dolgorukovsky district of the Lipetsk region .

Transport
