Then he moved to St. Petersburg University at the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics in the Department of Natural Sciences. After graduating from the course in 1872, he first worked in the laboratory of Professor Mendeleev .
In 1873 he entered the position of laboratory assistant in the analytical department of a chemical laboratory. In 1880, after defending his dissertation "On Methods for Measuring Chemical Affinity", he received a master's degree in chemistry.
The following year, he occupied the Department of Chemistry at the New Alexandria Institute of Agriculture and Forestry , from where he transferred to the University of Warsaw to the Department of General Chemistry. In 1886, having defended his dissertation under the title "On the value of the heat of salt formation in double decompositions," he received a doctorate in chemistry and in the same year he was approved as an ordinary professor. In 1895, approved by the director of the New Alexandria Institute; held this position until 1900.
