Church of St. Florence in Orange
St. Florence, Bishop of Orange, is known for his patronage of monastic scholarship and personal holiness. He defended his department from the heretical attacks of those times.
In 509, Saint Florenty was deported by the Ostrogoths to the town of Fiorenzuola d'Arda with the rest of the inhabitants of Orange . Thanks to the intercession of St. Florentine returned home before Theodoric the Great .
The relics of St. Florence are distributed between the church in Orange, which bears his name, the cathedral of Notre-Dame de Dom in Avignon , the cathedral [1] of the city of Le Puy-en-Velay , churches in Fiorenzuola and [2] .
