Nizami (cinema center)

Nizami Cinema Center ( azerb. Nizami Kino Mərkəzi ) is a cinema (formerly Khudozhestvenny) located in the capital of Azerbaijan , in the city of Baku , on Bulbul Avenue. It bears the name of the outstanding poet Nizami Ganjavi [1] . The theater building was built in 1934 [2] [3] . The architects are Sadikh Dadashev and Mikael Useynov [2] [3] .

In November 2011, the opening of the building of the Nizami movie theater took place after a major overhaul and reconstruction. The opening ceremony was attended by President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and his wife Mehriban Aliyeva [4] .

In the lobby of the building there are stands with photographs that reflect the history of the cinema. On the first floor there are two cinema halls with 50 and 80 seats, on the second - a large cinema hall with 500 seats, and on the fifth - a VIP cinema hall with 24 seats. There are also kiosks on the first floor of the cinema, a cafe on the second, a cafe club and a press center on the fourth, and a 250-seat restaurant and administrative premises on the fifth and sixth floors. The ceiling of the restaurant in accordance with the time of year is mechanically opened and closed [4] . A monument to Nizami Ganjavi is installed on the pediment of the cinema building.
