Senebi

Senebi ( Georgian азი , Azeri Sənab ) is a village of the Bolnisi municipality , Kvemo-Kartli region of the Republic of Georgia with a 96% Azerbaijani population . [5] It is located in the south-eastern part of Georgia, in the territory of the historic Borchaly region .

History

In 1990–1991 , as a result of the change by the Georgian leadership of the historical toponyms of the settlements of ethnic minorities in the region, the name of the village Senab (“ Azerb. Sənab ”) was changed to its present name - Senebi. [6]

Geography

The village is located on the right bank of the Khrami River, 13 km from the district center of Bolnisi . [7]

It borders on the villages of Bektakari , Akaurta , Dzveli-Kveshi , Dzedzvnariani , Tandzia and Izaria of the Bolnisi Municipality , as well as Shikhlo and Samgereti of the Dmanisi municipality . [eight]

According to the State Statistics Committee of Georgia, according to the official census of 2002 , the population of the village of Senebi is 157 people and 96% is made up of Azerbaijanis . [9]
