C / 2013 N4 (Borisov) - a long-period comet discovered by the Ukrainian amateur astronomer Gennady Borisov on July 8, 2013 using an aperture wide-angle 230 mm astrograph (1: 1.5) of its own design, called the “Genon” ( Eng. Genon ) .

Comet C / 2013 N4 was discovered near the bright Capella star in the constellation of the Ascendant , as an object of the 13th magnitude. The observations were carried out from July 5 to July 8, 2013 on the territory of the Crimean station GAISH Moscow State University, in the Bakhchisarai district , at an altitude of 600 meters above sea level. The comet was confirmed on July 13, 2013.

Comet C / 2013 N4 (Borisova) is the first comet discovered from the territory of independent Ukraine .
