Biography
Anna Bakai was born on November 14, 1911 on the farm Nestukayevka (now - within the city of Svatovo, Lugansk region of Ukraine ). She graduated from the four classes of school, after which she worked first in the parental farm, and then on the collective farm , was a drover, then a field farmer. During the Great Patriotic War, participated in the construction of defensive lines, survived the occupation. After liberation, she returned to work on the collective farm, became a unit field brigade [1] .
The Bakai link served a total of 80 hectares of land on which a large number of different crops were grown. Despite the extremely difficult conditions of the post-war period, the link achieved great success, in 1948 it collected 30.6 centners of wheat from each hectare of land [1] .
By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of April 19, 1949, Anna Bakai was awarded the high title of Hero of Socialist Labor with the award of the Order of Lenin and the Hammer and Sickle medal [1] .
Since 1960, she worked as a calf house in the 1st department of the Druzhba state farm. After retirement she lived in Svatovo. She died on April 23, 1998, and was buried in the Southern Cemetery of Svatovo [1] .
It was also awarded a number of medals [1] .
