European Congress of Ethnic Religions

The European Congress of Ethnic Religions ( ECER ), known as the World Congress of Ethnic Religions ( WCER ) until 2010, is an organization established at its first congress, which was held from June 21 to 23, 1998 in Vilnius ( Lithuania ).

ECER aims at preserving ethnic religions , strengthening the traditions of polytheistic religions, and promoting religious tolerance in Europe and the rest of the world. ECER helps national polytheistic organizations overcome various bureaucratic barriers in registration and recognition by the official authorities of individual countries. The organization also promotes collaboration between reconstructed neopagan religions and Hinduism .

The founders of the congress are European ethnic religious organizations, while the ECER Congress is, in principle, open to ethnic religious organizations from other continents.
