Club career

Fabien Odar began his career as a football player in the amateur clubs “Cesse” and “Muret”. In 1998 he moved to Toulouse . In the 1998/99 season, Odar was the third goalkeeper of the team after Teddy Risher and Alain Guamene [3] and played for the team in only 1 match of Division 1 . At the end of the first half of the meeting with Marseille , the young goalkeeper replaced Richer on the field and in the remaining time he conceded 2 goals (from Florian Moris and Fabrizio Ravanelli ) [4] .

At the end of the 1998/99 season, Toulouse dropped out to Division 2, and Teddy Richer left the club. Despite this, Odar’s position in the team has not changed much. He played 4 matches in Division 2, losing to Guamene and Torsten Walter, who passed from Düsseldorf's Fortuna , on this indicator [5] .

In the summer of 2000, Christoph Revo came to Toulouse, who took the number 1 position in the team [6] . Odar, having played 5 matches in the 2000/01 season , was first rented by Bastia , and in August 2002 by Lorient .

From 2002 to 2004, Fabien Odar played 55 matches in Ligue 2 for Lorient, successfully competing with his understudy Stefan Le Garreck . In addition, in the 2002/03 season, Lorient took part in the UEFA Cup , which made it possible for the goalkeeper to make his debut in the tournament with the team.

In the summer of 2004, Odar briefly returned to Ligue 1, ending up on loan at Monaco . However, as part of the Monegasques, the goalkeeper could not withstand competition from Flavio Roma , and after playing for the new team 4 matches of the season, he returned to Lorient. Since the 2006/07 season he has been playing with Lorient in League 1.
