Hermann Tillemans ( Dutch: Herman Tillemans MSC [1] , July 31, 1902 , Netherlands - August 23, 1975 , Merauke , Indonesia ) - Catholic prelate , first archbishop of Merauke from November 15, 1966 to June 26, 1972, member of the monastic congregation "Missionaries of the Sacred Heart of Jesus."

Biography
On August 19, 1928, Hermann Tillemans was ordained a priest in the monastic congregation “Missionaries of the Sacred Heart of Jesus”, after which he was sent to the Netherlands New Guinea , where he was engaged in missionary work for the next 44 years. Since 1935, for two years he was a translator of the Dutch anthropologist Hendrick Beilmer.
On June 25, 1950, Pope Pius XII appointed Herman Tillemans as apostolic vicar Merauke and titular bishop of Berissa . On November 5, 1950, Hermann Tillemans was ordained bishop by the titular bishop of Germontis, Nicholas Verhoeven.
On November 15, 1966, the apostolic vicar of Merauke was transformed into the archdiocese and Hermann Tillemans became the first archbishop of Merauke .
He participated in the I, II, III and IV sessions of the Second Vatican Council .
On June 26, 1972, German Tillemans resigned. He died on August 23, 1975 in the city of Merauke.
