History

Vyazye, known since the XVI century as a village in the Grand Duchy of Lithuania , in 1560 was listed as state property in Svisloch volost with 20 yards. In the Russian Empire, it turned out after the second partition of the Commonwealth in 1793. In 1847, under the name Vyazhna, the village was mentioned as the property of a landowner in the Lyadtsy estate of Bobruisk district with 275 inhabitants and 43 courtyards. According to the census of 1897, Vyazye was already listed in the Pogorelsky volost of the Igumen district with 341 inhabitants. Also in the village, according to the census, there was an inn , two mills, a bread shop, a drinking house , a ferry crossing, and a parish school . In 1907, it was already mentioned with 53 yards and 408 residents. Then, the estate of the same name (52 inhabitants) and a water mill (1 yard and 17 residents) were witnessed nearby. In 1917, there were already 77 households with 469 inhabitants, and the estate had 60 inhabitants. From February to November 1918, Vyazye was occupied by German troops, from August 1919 to July 1920 - Polish. According to data for 1925, 81 students studied at a local school. In 1930, the Avangard collective farm was created here [4] .

During the Great Patriotic War, Vyazia was occupied by Nazi troops from the end of June 1941 to June 28, 1944; 27 residents out of 75 who fought at the front were killed. In the village itself there was an underground anti-fascist group [4] .

The center of the Vyazevsky village council of the Osipovichsky district of the Mogilev region Vyazye has been since January 21, 1966. Several settlements were also resettled in Vyazye: the first in 1940 was the Lenevka farm , in 1967 - the village of Kamenka [4] .

At the moment, there are Osipovichskaya hydroelectric power stations, hydrometeopost, fish farm Svisloch, forestry, secondary school and kindergarten, FAP , library, canteen, 2 shops, a communications department, a branch of a savings bank, a telephone exchange, a comprehensive reception center for consumer services in Vyazye , House of the breeder, House of culture with a museum of local lore, children's orthopedic sanatorium "Vyazye" and recreation center "Birch" of the sports partnership "Petrel" [4] .

The childhood of the Belarusian poet Maxim Bogdanovich was connected, among other things, with this village, as it was here that his aunt S.A. Sekerzhitskaya lived, to whom he visited in the spring and summer of 1895 with his mother Maria and brothers Vadim and Leva. A memorial plaque was installed on the aunt’s house (in 1986 - the building of the sports base) in 1984 [4] [5] .
