Geography
The village of Sura is located in the central part of the Dolgorukovsky district , 5 km south of the village of Dolgorukovo . Located on the banks of a small dam.
History
Surah Farm appeared in the last quarter of the 19th century . In 1891 V.K. Nikolaev in a farm of Sura of the Sergiyevsky volost of the Yelets district . The name "Sura" from the log or beam where the groundhogs lived [2] .
In the Suras, according to the census of the USSR in 1926, 6 yards, 29 residents are noted.
In 1928, the village became part of the Dolgorukovsky district of the Yelets district of the Central Black Earth region . After the separation of the Central Black Sea District in 1934, the Dolgorukovsky district became part of the Voronezh region , in 1935 - the Kursk region , in 1939 - the Oryol region , and from January 6, 1954, as part of the newly formed Lipetsk region .

Transport
An asphalt highway passes through Sura, connecting the villages of Kharlamovka and Novinka with the village of Dolgorukovo .

Famous residents
- Sevrin, Victor Semenovich . Hero of the Soviet Union. During the Great Patriotic War, the company commander of a rifle regiment. He lived in Sura. In the village of Dolgorukovo, a street is named after him.
