Biography
In 1948 he entered into the fraternity of the Ryshkansky monastery ( Suceava County ). He took monasticism in the Nyametsky monastery and in 1953 was ordained a hierodeacon .
In 1955 he graduated from the Nyametskaya, in 1956 - the Curtea de Arges Theological Seminary; in 1959 - the theological institute of the University of Bucharest, and in 1961 - the Sofia Theological Academy , after which he received a license . He studied at the doctoral program in specialization in World Church History at the Bucharest Theological Institute (1961-1962), at the Moscow Theological Academy (1962-1964) and again in Bucharest (1966-1968).
In 1956-1957 - teacher of the monastic school at the Dragomirn monastery,
In 1964-1965 he was a priest and minister of the Putnensky Monastery,
In 1965-1971 - a teacher, 1967-1971 - Director of the Nyametsky Theological Seminary.
In 1967 he was ordained a hieromonk , and in 1968 he was elevated to the dignity of protosingel .
In 1971, he was appointed rector of the Nyametsky Monastery with the elevation to the rank of archimandrite . He stayed in this position until 1975.
In 1975-1982 - Bishop of Tomsk, Vicar of the Lower Danube Diocese, with his seat in Constance .
In 1982-2009 - Bishop of Buz.
He supervised the construction of the Cathedral of the Assumption of the Virgin, as well as the buildings of the Diocesan Chancellery, the Buzau Theological Seminary and the Bishop's House. Under his leadership, 95 new churches were erected, and 61 others - including the new cathedral in honor of the Ascension of the Lord - were built. 28 monasteries and hermitages were revived.
Since November 8, 2009 - Archbishop of Buzau and Vranich.
He died on January 7, 2013 at the 81st year of life.
