Development
The first time a popular rapper Jay-Z [1] became the executive producer of the game, proposing the idea of including US teams from 1992 and 2012. The only problem with the implementation of this plan was the impossibility of using the exterior of professional basketball player Scottie Pippen , but after the massive feedback from fans of the series of games he was included in the team list. In mid-June 2012, 2K Sports announced players that will appear on the cover of the next part. They were Derrick Rose ( Chicago Bulls ), Blake Griffin ( Los Angeles Clippers ), Kevin Durant ( Oklahoma City Thunder ). The musical accompaniment and design of the game was made with the direct participation of Jay-Z .
Innovations
Game developers have managed to make a deeper career mode, including the approval of transactions, complex contract negotiations and social elements of the media. Also introduced a new type of dribbling - "control in a free style," similar to the same ability in the NBA Live series of games. Legendary teams from NBA 2K12 and the “Celebrity team”, consisting of American celebrities, were returned to the game. For the first time in the series, these commands were available online. In addition, NBA 2K13 interacts with the Kinect controller via voice commands in the Xbox 360 version [2]
