Biography
He was born on January 9, 1919 in the village of Melovaya, now Balakleysky district, Kharkov region . In 1936 he went to work in the Donbass. Participated in the construction of a mine in Donetsk.
In 1938, drafted into the Red Army . He served in the artillery unit. At the front in World War II since July 1942. He participated in defensive battles northwest of the city of Serafimovich, from November 1942 to February 1943, surrounded by the Stalingrad enemy group. Since March 1943 he fought on the Central Front .
On July 9, 1943, the enemy launched eight attacks on a fire platoon under the command of Junior Lieutenant Uvarov. When the guns were broken, Uvarov raised the fighters in a counterattack. He died in battle. On December 24, 1943, for the courage, bravery and heroism, Junior Lieutenant Uvarov Vasily Timofeevich was posthumously awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union .
