Biography

Mikhail Mamonov was born on October 31, 1917 in the village of Bessergenevskaya (now the Oktyabrsky District of the Rostov Region ).

After graduating from the collective farm youth school and the factory apprenticeship school, he worked as a mechanic at the Rostselmash plant. Later he graduated from the Azov-Black Sea Agricultural Institute with a degree in agronomy, after which he was called up for service in the Workers 'and Peasants' Red Army . He graduated from the Borisov Military Engineering School. Since July 1941 - on the fronts of World War II. After its completion, he was transferred to the reserve [1] .

Returning to his homeland, he worked first as an agronomist at the Kirov stud farm in Tselinsky district , then as chief agronomist at the Budyonny stud farm in Salsky district . In January 1962, Mamonov was appointed chairman of the collective farm named after the XXII Congress of the CPSU in the village of Sower. During his leadership, this farm became one of the best in the whole region, the yield was significantly increased, a number of buildings for industrial purposes, as well as residential buildings and social facilities were built. The Mamonov collective farm annually sold 6 thousand tons of grain to the state [1] .

By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of March 13, 1981 for "outstanding achievements in fulfilling the tasks of the tenth five-year plan and socialist obligations to increase the production and sale of agricultural products and livestock products to the state" [2] Mikhail Mamonov was awarded the high title of Hero of Socialist Labor with the award of the Order Lenin and the "Hammer and Sickle" medals [1] .

He lived in the Sower, after retirement he led the local council of veterans.

He died on December 28, 2002 [1] .

  • He was awarded four orders of Lenin, orders of the October Revolution , World War 1 and 2 degrees, the Red Star , "Badge of Honor" , a number of medals.
  • Honorary Citizen of Salsk and the Salsky District. Honored Agronomist of the RSFSR .
