General view of a flowering plant
Perennial rosette herbaceous plant . Stems erect, leafy, 3-10 cm tall. Basal leaves form a basal rosette that forms ground stolons , which, taking root, give rise to new plants ( vegetative propagation ). Leaves are deprived of petioles ; the leaf blade is oblong-lanceolate or ovoid, not divided into lobes, 5–20 mm long. Leaves also have glandular hairs along the edge. The stem, as a rule, ends with one (less often two) terminal flower ; sometimes the flowers are gathered into loose complex umbrellas of 2-5 flowers. Bracts are sessile. Flowers with golden yellow ovoid petals with a length of 4 to 10 mm, significantly exceeding the sepals in size. Sepals are free or fused with bases, pointed or blunt. Filaments are smooth, correspond to the sepals in length or are somewhat shorter. The whole plant has a more or less reddish hue. The fruit is a rounded ovoid capsule [4] [5] [6] .
The chromosome set 2n = 16 (according to other sources, 32) [7] .
The plant is decorative [4] .
The species range includes the Arctic , Siberia , the Far East , and the Caucasus [4] . It grows on rocky screes, moss-covered surfaces.
The saxifrage saxifrage is not threatened with extinction, but it is still a rather rare plant. The species is included in the Red Books of the Stavropol and Krasnodar Territories [4] .
