Biography
He was born on November 7, 1922 in the village of Savchinskoye now Bliznyukovsky district of the Kharkov region of Ukraine .
In the Red Army since 1940. In 1941 he graduated from the school of pilots. He participated in the Great Patriotic War in May 1942. He flew two hundred and sixty-two successful sorties on an Il-2 attack plane.
On August 18, 1945, for the exemplary performance of command missions at the front of the struggle against Nazi invaders and the courage and heroism shown to them, Lieutenant Serbinenko Nikolai Illarionovich was awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union with the award of the Order of Lenin and the Gold Star medal.
After the war, he continued to serve in the Air Force. Since 1960, Lt. Col. Serbinenko - retired. He died on March 9, 1981.
