Very little is known about Khachatur’s life. Born in the region of Taron , during the reign of Zakarian, he moved to Eastern Armenia [3] . He was a prominent church leader in Armenia, an active fighter for the independence of the Armenian church (a document dated 1178 with his signature is known) [4] . He became the abbot of the Agartsin monastery at the end of the 12th century. During his career, Akhartsin has experienced a cultural uplift [5] . Improved the Khazov notation [6] , contributed to the spread of Hazov in Eastern Armenia. He is the author of many sharakans, the best of which is the “Deepest Mystery” ( Armenian Խորհուրդ խորին ) [2] . The song was originally called “Sharakan Robes” ( Armenian “Զգեստավորման շարական” ) [6] and was written on the occasion of the open-air liturgy organized by Prince Zakar Zakaryan [1] . During the liturgy Khachatur personally sang it [1] . The text is written in the acrostic style, the initial letters of eight stanzas form the author's name ('Խ', 'Ա', 'Չ', 'Ա', 'Տ', 'Ո', 'Ւ', 'Ր'). “The deepest mystery” (sometimes the “Great Sacrament”) became in the XIV century [7] a prologue to the Armenian liturgy [6] . The Taroneci Charakans were translated into Italian and published in 1826 in Venice [8] . He died in about 1230.
