TEFI is the Russian national television award for the highest achievements in the field of television arts. Established by the Academy of Russian Television Foundation on October 21, 1994 [1] . The award was supposed to be the Russian equivalent of the American Emmy television award.

To participate in the competition “TEFI — 2009”, works produced and first broadcast in Russia during the period from June 1, 2008 to May 31, 2009 were accepted [2] .
Content
Ceremony
The fifteenth award ceremony was held in two stages. Awarding of winners in the category “Professions” was held on September 21, 2009 at the Central House of Entrepreneur in Moscow . The presenters of this stage of the ceremony were Svetlana Sorokina and Kirill Nabutov [3] . September 26, 2009 at the Mikhailovsky Theater of St. Petersburg was awarded the winners in the category "Faces". Ksenia Rappoport and Leonid Parfyonov , Anna Shatilova and Yevgeny Kochergin were invited to lead the ceremonies [4] . The preparation and broadcasting of the television version of the awards ceremony in the nominations of the "Persons" category was carried out by Channel Five [5] .
