Biography
He graduated from the Faculty of Law of the University of Belgrade, received a master's degree. He entered politics in 1988 with the introduction of a multi-party political system in the country.
- 1990-1997 - Deputy Prime Minister of Montenegro,
- 1997–2000 - Deputy Chairman of the Assembly of Montenegro,
- 2000-2001 - Prime Minister of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia.
He resigned of his own free will, protesting against the decision of the Serbian authorities, headed by Prime Minister Zoran Djindjic, to extradite the former FRY President Slobodan Milosevic to the International Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia in The Hague.
He was an active member of the bloc for the preservation of the State Union of Serbia and Montenegro, which broke up in 2006 after a referendum on independence held in Montenegro.
